Our Early Learning Centres of Excellence
We believe that each child is a unique individual, with individual beliefs, interests and ideals that need to be respected and encouraged in order to foster their Holistic Excellence.
To foster Holistic Excellence in each individual child during their time with us, believing that no element of excellence is complete in isolation and should be linked together for its attainment.
As an organisation, we believe that each child is a unique individual, with individual beliefs, interests and ideals that need to be respected and encouraged in order to foster their Holistic Excellence.
Underpinned by the FISH! Philosophy, the ALROS values are designed to be of benefit to all of the stakeholders (Families, Children, Staff and the wider community) of A Little Rei of Sunshine Early Learning Centres and are:
Choose Your Attitude means taking responsibility for how you respond to what the day throws at you. Once you are aware that your choice impacts everyone around you, you can ask yourself, “Is my attitude helping my team and the children in my care? Is it helping me to be the educator I want to be?”
‘Lead by Example’. This value is about showing initiative and drive for the centre’s program and for you own lifelong learning journey. This is also about being the change you want to see in others.
‘Be There’. Being physically and emotionally present for the stakeholders of our centres is a reflection of this respect. It highlights the importance of active supervision, engagement and empathy for the children, the team, the families and ensuring that the work environment is clean, tidy and aesthetically pleasing.
‘Play’. This taps into your natural way of being creative, enthusiastic and having fun. Play is the spirit that drives the curious mind, and highlights the importance of being involved in play with the children as a way of further understanding each individual child’s interests and strengths.
‘Make Their Day’ Finding simple ways to serve our stakeholders in a meaningful, memorable way. It’s about making a positive and valuable contribution in all aspects of our role as early childhood educators.
Where a Little Rei of Sunshine began
THE STORY FROM OUR DIRECTOR, MARY…
The Sound of Music is what kicked off my love of Early Childhood Education!! I have been passionate about working with children since I first saw the movie at age 5. I help out with children when ever and where ever I could. Baby sitting family, church service and eventually nannying which I did all through high school. I then volunteered at a few childcare services both here and overseas and LOVED IT!
Then in my first year at uni at the ripe old age of 19, I was studying an arts/psych degree and not really loving it. So one morning on the way in to uni, over a pie with my dad we discussed the idea of opening a childcare centre and have never looked back.
That pie was 20 years ago!! I actually owe this entire journey to my dad and his amazing support of my dream – we definitely wouldn’t be where we are without his unconditional love and unfailing support.

Our Management Team
‘Hi I’m Torren, I’m the Educational Leader at our Peakhurst service and have been part of the Little Rei of Sunshine family for seven lovely years!
My passion for Early Childhood Education is in creating a place that children can come to, where they feel confident and safe, surround themselves with friends and extend on their learning and interest in a fun, interactive and meaningful way.’
My name is Raffinee and I am the Associate Director of our Peakhurst service. I have been on my professional Early Childhood journey for 6 years with the amazing centres of A Little Rei of Sunshine. I am a passionate advocate for the rights of the child and am devoted to ensuring that each child is holistically respected and feels safe, secure and supported.
Our flagship, purpose built service was designed to be a warm home away from home. Our focus is on continually building and maintaining respectful and reciprocal relationships with the families and the wider community. Small and boutique, we pride ourselves on our personalised and high quality service.
Like our sister centre at Peakhurst, our Riverwood centre is a warm and inviting home like environment, where each of our stakeholders play a pivotal role. Tucked away off the main road, but close to public transport means that our sevice is an accessible oasis for both our children and our families.
